Opportunity

Amongst a sea of cookie-cutter band websites and generic MySpace music pages, there was a tremendous opportunity to tell the King Jasper story on a multidimensional level. With a cast of characters eager to express their personalities online, the King Jasper project had all the necessary ingredients to take new users and the existing fan base on an intergalactic journey through their computer screens.

Execution

Starting with multiple brainstorm sessions including musicians, designers and filmmakers from King Jasper, an idea started to take shape that was not of this earth. Space travel became the theme which would eventually find its way into the King Jasper website and debut music video for MTV. Navigation throughout the site is three-dimensional while the user experience mimicks the effect of standing at a master control dashboard. Stark black backgrounds representing deep space were broken up by punches of neon colors.

Results

Subtle Flash animations hidden throughout the site keep viewers engaged at all times and primed for repeat visits to experience everything. Website traffic continues to increase and King Jasper has recently been approached by several national sponsors to headline a Summer college tour.
